Jim Fenner

What are you passionate about?

A desire to look after this planet drives me in many different ways. I love the emerging technologies around EVs, alternative energy production and storage, carbon capture, water and waste management and the myriad challenges these present. Education is at the core of understanding the impacts of what we're currently doing, and fuelling the innovations that will define the future of this planet.

What are your greatest accomplishments?

A 6 month spell setting up a new office in San Francisco. I moved over there with the whole family in 2011, and while the weekends were full of exploring the national parks with the kids, we worked hard through the week with a superb team to transform an old office space into a state of the art flagship office, R&D space and lab complete with basement table tennis and beer pumps. Oddly enough, a space now occupied by Strava!

What do you love most about being part of The Key Group?

You can't beat the sense of purpose - not just for myself but seen in the commitment of friends and colleagues around the many teams I work with.

What else should we know about you?

I have loved coaching Mini Rugby in Harpenden for the last 9 years. While my dreams of playing for England are in as bad a state as my ageing hips, it's thrilling to pass on my love of the sport, its values and skills to the next generation of young players
