Neil Collins

What are you passionate about?

I believe that every thriving community has a good school at its heart. This was the underlying reason that I formed GovernorHub in 2012. Improving a school is the stand-out way to enhance the opportunities and prospects of both its students and the wider community.

What are your greatest accomplishments?

It has to be founding GovernorHub - and seeing it grow from an idea into a governance solution for more than 60% of schools in the country. The fact that it’s indispensable to the smooth-running of many large multi academy trusts also makes me very proud.

Outside of work, I have been a trustee, and am now a member of, a fantastic multi-academy trust in Norfolk, and I have loved being part of its journey from a single school to seven primary and secondaries, and seeing it reach the top 10% of trusts nationwide for Progress 8 scores. I’m bringing that experience to another role as chair of trustees at a medium-sized trust, and as a trustee of a small special school.

What do you love most about being part of The Key Group?

GovernorHub was already on a really exciting trajectory before we joined The Key Group, and since then, we have added even more value for our customers, including clerks, trusts and local authorities as well as governors, through investment in the product. We’ve been able to grow our customer base, empowering more of the 500,000 volunteer governors in this country to carry out their role with ease.
