Izzi Dorrian

What are you passionate about?

I’m passionate about harnessing the tremendous power of the school system to do the best for all students attending. Specifically, by ensuring operational excellence which allows all staff to focus their time where it’s best spent - improving the overall outcomes for pupils.

What are your greatest accomplishments?

I was a co-founder of a 16-19 academy in East London in 2014 which focuses on giving young people from all backgrounds access to high quality vocational creative education. Today that school is flourishing and has been joined by another, equally fantastic 16-19 school in Islington. I’m very proud to have played a part in the start of both schools’ journeys.

I’m also very proud of setting up Habitude and bringing the transformative (and joyful) power of automation to schools and Trusts.

What do you love most about being part of The Key Group?

The relentless drive to achieve the vision, and to keep pushing what is possible. It’s thrilling to be alongside such smart, innovative people who are all aiming for the same goal for schools, teachers and pupils.

What else should we know about you?

I started my career as a solicitor where I specialised in Charity and Education Law which has been a solid grounding for everything else I’ve gone on to do.

I have two sons, the youngest of whom was born 6 months into the set up of Habitude so I experienced the need for extreme operational efficiency as we started the business! There is still a lot to be done as a system to effectively get mothers back into the workplace, so I am really supportive of the thinking that goes into enabling flexible working across The Key Group.
